Community Involvement:
The Randy Prunner
Trust Fund
Early Beginnings…
From a young age, my dad had two ways of staying out of trouble: music, and sports. Coming from a family that relied on a modest income and didn’t have a lot, he was able to find free or affordable opportunities to keep him engaged and express himself.
Childhood…
Similar to my dad, we were raised on a modest income with a love for both music and activity. While sometimes it was tough to scrape the funds together to participate, my parents found ways to support us with our interests where they could. This brought me to the Beal Wrestling team, as well as the Beal Music department. The compassion and support from staff and community volunteers has always been overwhelming, giving as many students as they can the same opportunities to excel and participate.
The Trust Fund…
In 2024 we lost my dad. He didn’t have much, but he was always generous with what he had and gave help when he could. In his memory, we have created the Randy Prunner Trust Fund: a collection of funding accessible for teachers to help support students in low-income households with opportunities to participate and grow. While this collection is in its early stages, the hope is to expand this reserve to encompass all sports and music programs at Beal to start, with expansion to other high schools in the Thames Valley School Board if possible.
I have had the absolute privilege to work alongside many of Beal’s students since 2012, and have seen firsthand how a little impact can go a long way. If you feel moved by what we are creating, reach out and we can discuss ways you can contribute.
